This Morning
Last night Arlene said, “if it’s raining in the morning then I want to go out for coffee.” It was rainy; we went out for coffee. I think the place is called The Black Bear. We’d been there before and I thought it was disappointing but Arlene had liked it so we gave it another chance. Arlene’s latte had art. My breve had a white cloud-shaped blobby but it tasted pretty good. When I leave tips I always choose the tip so that the total is a whole number of dollars. But this Black Bear place… they present the amount and I tip on the amount, then they seem to add tax leaving the amount on the credit card statement as something other than a whole dollar amount. In a way this makes sense because if the machine shows an amount with tax included then one is deceived into leaving a tip on the tax. So it’s hard to fault them. But then, how is a guy supposed to keep his credit card statement looking nice and clean.
After coffee on this rainy morning we decided to stay in and get on the erg. Right? Because if you’re travelling with a rowing machine then you should probably use it.

After Lunch
We drove out to Savage River again hoping to find parking parking then walk past the road closure and see whatever there was to see. We thought the rain might scare enough people away. But it didn’t. So we went back to the Visitors Center and walked a couple of the flatish shortish trails from there. We heard a bunch of Yellow-Rumped Warblers but didn’t see any. (Here, we’ve decided to capitalized the common names of birds.)
Then we did laundry and took showers at Riley Creek Mercantile.
Oh, glorius shower day!

Two things… Tipping on tax is a pet peeve of mine. Good work:-) Did you row to Alaska? Incredible!
