Last night as we were settling down the evening, a large plume of smoke from a fire north of Healy engulfed our little home away from home. Fortunately, we woke up this morning to clear air. The sky was overcast and we were a little tired from our off trail excursion so we spent a leisurely morning not watching any cycling because there aren’t any significant races until Le Tour de France. After a few meters on the erg, we decided it was a good morning for cheat coffee. We ended up at Denali Wild Crepes where G had a Turkish coffee and I had my usual latte.
After doing some domestic stuff, we headed out on the Triple Lakes Trail. The trail is a 9.5 mile point to point trail that goes from Denali National Park to point just north of our cabin on highway 3. We started at the nearby trailhead, we walked to the first lake (actually labeled Lake 3) where a trumpeter swan was out for a swim.

Next was Lake 2 which was the second lake on the trail.

After we left Lake 2, it started to rain. Being a native Washingtonian, no big deal. Here is Lake 1 with prepared Gregory and Arlene. Since there was not Lake 0 further up the trail, we hiked back to the car. We didn’t see any bears.
